Toward Meaningful Student-Faculty Interactions in Higher Education
This workshop will explore practical ways for educators to have more frequent and
meaningful interactions with students, especially in university classes. Through knowledge-sharing, ideation, and discussions, participants will have a chance to reflect on their practices, share insights with peers, and access concrete strategies for better and more frequent student-faculty interactions. Rooted in empirical findings, the workshop is an occasion to increase awareness of students’ needs, reflect on best practices, share knowledge, and offer guidance for cross-cultural communication. While insights are especially relevant to educators working in higher education or with adult learners, all teachers can benefit from understanding the importance of student-faculty interactions and exploring practical ways to foster them with students of different
backgrounds.
