National Council Meeting Jan 26

The National Council of KOTESOL will meet on the 26th of January (Sunday).
Sookmyung University's Injaegwan, room 207 *
Seoul.

All KOTESOL members are welcome to attend. The meeting will start at 11 am, and is scheduled to be completed by 4.30 pm.

As in years past, KOTESOL is proud to support the efforts of its members by offering two types of research grants through the Research Committee. This year, we will offer one "Research Paper Grant" and up to five "Conference Presentation Grants." Please read on for more

Research Paper Grants are offered for the purpose of stimulating new research, especially by beginning researchers, of high quality and worthy of appearing in the Korea TESOL Journal.

National Council Evolves

Membership in the KOTESOL National Council evolves over several phases:

National elections Chapter elections Council appointments
 

National election outcomes were announced at the Annual Business Meeting October 13th, and on this site that same day. Chapter elections take place at various local meetings throughout the year (many occur in November). Each chapter's president has a vote on the national council.

Council Meeting Derailed

The KOTESOL National Council meeting scheduled for 10am August 31st failed to reach a quorum due to a train collision north of the Daegu train station early Saturday morning. The collision between KTX and Mugunghwa passenger trains cancelled all northbound rail service for several hours.

A number of Seoul-bound KOTESOL council members were delayed at DongDaegu Station for nearly an hour before the decision to cancel service was announced. For those south of the accident, KORAIL recommended taking commercial bus service to Daejeon or Seoul. The Express Bus Terminal adjacent to...
