President
Candidate One
Sarah Slagle is the founder and Education Director of Slingoh Korea, which offers English and Korean learning programs for adults. She holds an MTESOL from Arizona State University and has taught university students and adult learners in Korea for over a decade. Sarah joined KOTESOL in 2013 as an International Conference volunteer. After years of attending conferences, she began presenting in 2024, first as a panelist at the International Conference and then as a solo presenter at the National Conference. In 2025, she served as Graduate Student Showcase Manager for the International Conference and now serves as LinkedIn Manager for the Publicity Committee. As a BGD member, she regularly participates in chapter professional development events and the Kakao group chat. She recently presented in Jeonju and Fukuoka.
Election promises and contributions:
I regularly participate in BGD KOTESOL’s online sessions and attend DPI initiative events in person. In 2026, I was proud to participate in conferences in Jeonju and Fukuoka as a BGD chapter member, sharing my work while staying connected to our chapter community.
As President, I would build on the chapter’s current initiatives while focusing on sustainable membership growth across our entire region. I would work to strengthen connections among educators in Busan, Gyeongnam, and Daegu; expand opportunities for members to participate, present, and take on leadership roles; and explore opportunities for local symposiums to be recognized as professional development by regional Offices of Education. I also want to ensure that BGD continues to provide meaningful benefits for veteran members, including opportunities for advanced professional development, networking with colleagues across the region, international connections, and recognition of their continued contributions to the field. My goal is a connected, active chapter where members at every stage of their careers can find community, professional growth, and opportunities to contribute.
