Andrew White, PhD, is the Editor-in-Chief of The English Connection (TEC), KOTESOL’s ELT magazine, a position he has held for the past six years. He also serves as Editor-in-Chief of Happenings and News (HAN), the association’s newsletter. Dr. White is an Associate Professor in the Business English Department at Induk University in Nowon-gu, Seoul, where he has been teaching since 1999. His research interests include classroom lesson design and spoken language interaction. His hobbies include homebrewing beer, practicing traditional Korean archery, and, more recently, growing peppers and making hot sauces.
David Shaffer, PhD, is a longtime member of KOTESOL and a longtime resident in Korea. He spent his teaching career at Chosun University in Gwangju. He is the chair of the KOTESOL Publications Committee, a position that he has held for a number of years. Dr. Shaffer has been involved in KOTESOL publications as an author and editor for over 25 years. He is active in the editing of each of KOTESOL’s publications. Dr. Shaffer has published research papers, book chapters, books, and numerous other articles on a variety of ELT/L and SLA topics. He has also published in the areas of Korean language, culture, and poetry.
In addition to his publishing work with KOTESOL, Dr. Shaffer has recently edited the 20th
anniversary book for AsiaTEFL, where he is an executive director, and he is the editor-in-chief of the Gwangju News, the monthly English-language magazine published by the Gwangju International Center, where he is a board director.
