"In this presentation, I introduce three major social approaches that have deepened ELT research: ethnography, duo-ethnography, and narrative inquiry. Drawing on examples from contemporary studies, the session highlights how these methodologies foreground teachers' and learners' lived experiences, identities, and sociocultural contexts. Participants will gain a clearer understanding of what each approach offers, how they differ, and how they can be applied to investigate complex issues in ELT such as legitimacy, agency, and transnational teaching. The talk is designed for ELT practitioners interested in socially grounded ways of understanding language education."
