FROM NAMWON
If you come to Jeonju from Namwon, look for the Riviera Hotel. Continue two blocks after the hotel, and then turn to the left. You will have to change lanes quickly. You will then continue by going through the center of the city. On your left you can see Gaeksa (the old Guest House). Keep going across the river. Up on the hill you'll be able to see the Presbyterian Medical Center. Just before the second river you can see the famous 'landmark' of the bowing mannequin at a gas station. Jeonju University is less than ten minutes continuing on that road from the river by car.
FROM GWANGJU OR DAEJEON
If you are on the Honam Expressway, get off the Expressway at the West Jeonju Exit (don't be confused with the regular Jeonju or South Jeonju exits). West Jeonju is north of South Jeonju IC, and a bit south of the regular Jeonju IC. Down the road to the east, as you cross over a small hill, outdoor restaurants and apartment buildings will suddenly pop up. When you see the clock tower of Jeonju University on your right, turn to the right where the road is forked and the banners are fluttering against the wind.
FROM IKSAN OR GUNSAN
If you come to Jeonju from Iksan, or get off the Honam Expressway at the regular Jeonju Exit, go toward the east through the Gate of the City (Honam Jeil Moon) on which a big calligraphy work is hanging. Turn to the right at the next intersection. On your right you'll see the World Cup Soccer Stadium. The road is curved and leads to an industrial park. At the river, turn to the right as soon as you cross the bridge. Go along the river until you get to the second bridge. Please don't make the mistake of turning too soon and going under the bridge, but turn to the right at that bridge and go over it. The bridge looks like it has three lanes, but only two are being used so please be careful. Jeonju University is less than ten minutes away from the river on your left.
If you are coming from outside Jeonju, you will probably arrive at either Jeonju's Express Bus or Inter-city Bus terminal. Upon arrival it is recommended that you take a taxi (approx. 4,000 won). Click here for taxi directions. Click here for the Express Bus Timetable.
If you are coming from Seoul, there is an express bus directly to Jeonju University from Nambu Bus terminal. The timetable is below:

The following buses go to Jeonju University.
355 from Gaeksa
3-1, 3-2 loop buses
6, 31, 54, 58, 119, 241, 335, 535.
There is only one train station in Jeonju. Upon arrival it is recommended that you take a taxi (approx 7,000 won). Click here for taxi directions. Click here for the Train Timetable.
Hail a cab in the normal way and say "Jeonju Daehak-kyo eh kajuseyo" in a clear, firm voice. Cost is approximately 3,000 won from Gaeksa, 4,000 from either bus terminal or 7,000 won from the train station. Get the taxi driver to drop you off at the roundabout by the building with the big clock (in the picture at the top of the page). If you have any problems call Shawn DeLong on 010-9223-0730.
Directions to Gunsan National University.
For more information, please call Phil Owen on 016-665-6915.
Come to Gunsan on Highway 21, which you can catch at the Jeonju IC by the World Cup Stadium. From Jeonju, you'll go past several exits to different parts of Gunsan, but wait for the "Gunsan National University / Gunsan Country Club / Gunsan Correctional Facility" exit. At the end of the exit ramp, take a right. You'll go through one traffic light and turn LEFT at the second. This will put you at the university's main gate.
Follow that road to the second round-about (rotary). That'll be just a few hundred meters. The Humanities Building (?? ?) is the four-story red brick building at the second rotary. There is parking in front of the building and on the side street.
If folks are coming from other than Jeonju and points west, they should try to take the West Coast Highway (Seo-Haeah) to the East Gunsan (Dong Gunsan) exit. After leaving the toll booth, there are THREE roads into Gunsan. Pass the first two and take the third. That is Highway 21. After getting on to Highway 21, follow the directions above.
I do not recommend taking the train as the station is quite far from town.
Both the Intercity and Express Bus terminals are about a 6500 won taxi ride from the U. Tell the taxi driver:
"Gunsan Daehakyo Inmundae Cheong Mun"
